Utility Business Controller

Duties include managing and participating in Water Utilities Department business functions, which include accounting, budgeting, meter
reading, billing, collections, customer service, and administrative support; overseeing special utilities projects, such as the
implementation of software systems for Customer Service and Utility Billing; selecting staff and coordinating training with employees to
correct deficiencies; implementing discipline procedures; and reinforcing concepts of work safety and investigating accidents. Duties
also include preparing a wide variety of data, reports, and related documentation for department initiatives and city management
review; providing prepared documents and information for various oversight groups such as the City Council and associated
committees; coordinating bid processes with the Purchasing Department, City Attorney’s Office and other City departments as
appropriate; representing the Water Utilities Department at local, state, federal, and industry events and providing a review of event
information to the department leadership team. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Management, Accounting, or a closely
related field and five years relevant experience, including two years of supervisory experience required. A résumé must be submitted
