City Hall on the Go, the City’s specially equipped van is now rolling through Dallas, providing a variety of services to residents in their own neighborhoods.

The new mobile office allows citizens to conduct city business such as paying a water bill, taking care of an outstanding ticket or looking up a warrant and pay online immediately. There’s even a walk up window to ask questions or voice concerns.

A large technology window offers a mobile hot spot and free access to an Android tablet, iPad and laptop. A shaded awning provides respite from the Texas sun. City staff are also ready to help citizens who may not be familiar with the latest technology, access the internet, or may not even own a computer.

“City Hall on the Go can provide any of the services that 311 offers over the telephone,” said 311 Community Engagement Coordinator Stephen Walker. “We can help people get birth certificates, garage sale permits, adopt a pet or register their animals.” You can also report a pot hole, a loose dog, a code concern or illegal dumping.

City Hall on the Go is available for events like neighborhood association meetings to speak on behalf of 311 or educate the community about what their city government can do for them. The mobile unit connects City Hall with citizens who may not have been able to connect with it in the past.

“This is more of a one-on-one experience, for those who want to learn about what their local government can do for them, and what their options are. They’re going to get an extra level of customer care,” Walker said.

City Hall on the Go operates throughout the City Wednesday through Sunday and will be available after hours.
