Do you know a community hero, like Sergeant Saemi Kitchens of Prince William County, Virginia, or Warren Gaskill, a recycling operator in Rockville, Maryland? These dedicated public servants work with professional local government managers to keep your city, town or county running smoothly every day.
If you look around the community, you’ll find people using their talents each day to improve our quality of life. Some are in very public professions—like police officers or teachers. Others work behind the scenes to maintain roads, collect recycling or beautify our parks and public spaces.
Life, Well Run is once again capturing profiles of these Community Heroes who work with professional city, town, and county managers to make Life, Well Run. But we need your help to find these heroes that deserve recognition.
Take a few minutes to nominate a Community Hero in your jurisdiction who helps create a Life, Well Run. This person is a member of the CAO’s staff or extended staff. He or she is a star performer, has a love for public service, and may have worked for local government for many, many years. Or the nominee is a recent hire who has already made an impact. This individual might
- Help highlight the success of the way your local government operates—effectively, efficiently, and ethically.
- Help highlight the success of a public/private partnership.
Life, Well Run is accepting nominations for Community Heroes until January 31, 2017. Complete the nomination form and e-mail it to lifewellrun@icma.org. Sponsored by ICMA-RC.
