The ICMA Executive Board held its quarterly meeting December 9=10, 2022, in Savannah, Georgia, and took the following actions:
- Received an update on the status of member engagement efforts to gain feedback on ICMA's racial equity and social justice initiatives. The December 2022 edition of PM magazine included a column by Past-President Troy Brown providing an update on initiatives to date and outlining the path forward.
- Received an update on planning efforts for the March 2023 international board meeting and study tour in the Philippines.
- Received an update on planning for ICMA's 2023 Local Government Reimagined Conferences (formerly regional conferences).
- Reviewed prerecorded presentations on the status of ICMA's Leadership Programs and new learning management system.
- Reviewed reports on the results of the 2022 ICMA Annual Conference and the outcome of 2022 form of government ballot initiatives.
- Approved appointments of both public and private sector representatives to the MissionSquare Retirement Board of Directors.
- Approved the interview questions that will be used by 2020 Regional Nominating Committees when interviewing candidates for regional vice presidents to serve on the ICMA Executive Board.
- Approved the slate of member committees and task forces to be included in the 2023 Call for Volunteers.
- Approved a proposed framework for examining and addressing ICMA Executive Board governance and regional representation.
- Engaged in internationalization training with representatives from Factum Global.
- Approved priorities that will guide the development of ICMA's FY2024 budget.
- Received a presentation from the Committee on Professional Conduct and approved proposed revisions to the ICMA Code of Ethics. These proposed changes will be placed before ICMA's membership for consideration via a special election ballot in spring 2023.
The board’s next meeting is scheduled for Saturday, March 11, 2023, in Manila, Philippines.
