The ICMA Executive Board met at the Conrad Manila on Sunday, March 12, 2023, as part of a joint board/International Committee study tour of USAID-funded project sites in the Philippines. The board took the following actions during its quarterly meeting:
- Revised and adopted a proposed board policy on a process for board members to request the addition of items to board meeting agendas.
- Reviewed the quantitative results of a survey conducted to obtain member feedback on ICMA's DEI initiatives. Following receipt of this feedback, Past President Troy Brown will share the comprehensive findings of ICMA's member engagement on this topic with an article in the May 2023 issue of PM magazine.
- Approved the slate of 2023-2024 president-elect candidates to be interviewed by the board at its June 2023 meeting.
- Approved recognition for the local government of Holt Summit, Missouri, under the General Management category.
- Received an update on applications received during the special call for volunteers to serve on the upcoming ICMA Governance Task Force. Appointments will be made by President Jeffrey Towery in June 2023.
- Received a presentation on a proposal for an expanded certification program to be offered to aspiring local government management professionals.
- Received a presentation on the development of ICMA's global engagement strategy roadmap.
The board’s next meeting is scheduled for June 2-3, 2023, in McMinnville, Oregon. During this meeting, the board will interview candidates and select the 2023-2024 ICMA President-Elect.
