Early this year ICMA proudly announced the launch of a nationwide ICMA Coaching Program. The idea behind this program is to help the next generation of leaders learn from current leaders. ICMA Executive Director Bob O’Neill explains, “The ICMA Coaching Program supports our mission to create excellence in local government by developing and fostering professional management at all career stages.”
One of the features of the program is 6 free coaching webinars. These webinars are opportunities to learn about best practices and engage with the presenters. The first webinar, Thriving as a High Performance Organization, was held on March 10 and covered these 4 topics:
1. How can you assess your agency's performance to identify opportunities for improvement?
2. What are strategies to stimulate interest and actions to boost performance?
3. What can we learn from best practices among local government agencies?
4. What are resources that can help local governments be their best?
