ICMA members have the opportunity to attend the 2013 Base Redevelopment Forum in Portland, Maine from September 25th – 27th, 2013. This opportunity was made possible by ICMA’s strategic partnership with the Association of Defense Communities (ADC).

The Base Redevelopment Forum is the nation’s leading forum focused on large-scale military base redevelopment. These projects are some of the most complex in the country and provide valuable experience to any community facing large scale brownfields redevelopment projects or urban renewal projects.

This year, the forum will focus comprehensively on several aspects of redevelopment projects, using award-winning former Naval Air Station Brunswick as a case study:

• Marketing
• Business / Tenant
• Sustainability
• Working with Developers
• Community Engagement
• Managing Liability and Protecting Assets
• Financing & Developing Infrastructure
• Leadership & Project Management

Through educational sessions, opportunities to explore the redevelopment of former NAS Brunswick, and networking with a diverse group of community and industry representatives, the Forum is designed for current local redevelopment authorities, legacy base closure projects, and non-military projects that are complex and large in scale.

For more information on registration, opportunities to participate in the program, travel and lodging, and sponsorship opportunities please visit the ADC website www.defensecommunities.org/baseredevelopment or contact Matt Borron at mborron@defensecommunities.org. ICMA members qualify for the ADC member registration rate.
