Last Tuesday, CityLinks hosted a free interactive webinar on Urban Intersections - Food Security, Water, and Climate Change.
The team was joined by Carmen Vogt of GIZ – Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH, Emani Kumar of ICLEI, Nevin Cohen of the School of Public Health at the City University of New York, and Marielle Dubbeling of RUAF for a one hour panel discussion followed by an audience Q&A. Presentations examined the how the issues of urban food secuity and water are tied to climate change.
Vogt discussed considerations for integrated urban and metropolitan development, focus on the Urban Nexus approach for the sustainable governance of rural-urban linkages. Kumar then presented a case study demonstrating the Urban Nexus approach at work in Nashik, India. Cohen finished off the panel with perspectives from New York City.
