The ICMA Center for Performance Measurement™ (CPM) is pleased to offer new custom performance reporting options designed for local governments and other organizations interested in municipal service performance information. CPM currently collects thousands of performance data points on a wide variety of public services from nearly 200 jurisdictions in the United States. From public safety to internal service performance data, some of the possible uses of CPM data include:
- Comparing performance to sets of CPM participants based on service characteristics
- Analyzing the “ins and outs” of local government services
- Identifying CPM measures to put your performance in context for your budgets and strategic plans
- Setting priorities and targeting improvements for your organization.
Based on your interests and needs, CPM will craft a report on the performance trends of CPM participants in any of our service areas.
Base-product: Service area summary
CPM will use an array of our performance indicators to analyze the performance trends, and draft an analysis based on your interests and needs. Analysis will focus on a particular service area’s input, output, efficiency, and outcome trends for the entire CPM participant base and one chosen subset (population range, region, service attribute, or other).

Add-ons
CPM offers two custom reporting add-ons to enhance our offerings and meet your specific data needs. Choose one or more of the options below to add context, incorporate your own data for comparison, or gain access to the select performance data.
Performance data set
CPM will provide an Excel file with the performance data and graphs reported in the Service Area Summary document as a supplement to the report. Graphs will be created to suit your particular data visualization needs.

Inclusion of jurisdiction-provided data
Putting your performance into context with peer comparisons can be a powerful exercise for targeting service improvements, setting priorities, and providing context in budget summaries and other public documents. If you have data points that match our performance measure definitions, CPM will incorporate your data to enhance your custom report.
