A resident of Aurora, Colorado lost a pet to coyotes.  The city began looking for solutions to the coyote problem.  Staff implemented an education and outreach program first in order to educate employees and citizens on the local coyote population.  The city then began a human-coyote conflict mapping program, followed by a hazing education program.  

Aurora's coyote program has attracted attention from groups such as the United States Humane Society and the 2011 International Urban Wildlife Management and Planning Conference.  The data from the program has allowed the city to spot actionable trends.
