The Regional Municipality of Peel, Ontario, Canada, was nominated to the 2005 ICMA Annual Awards Program for its Children's Water Festival. As part of Peel's commitment to promoting public awareness and education intiatives with respect to protection and conservation of water resources, the Water Festival educates nearly 10,000 elementary students and residents annually. The festival's success depends in large part on the cooperative efforts of a number of community partners including all levels of government.
