The E5 Academy is a City of Decatur leadership develpment program created by employees for employees. The name stands for the five e's that define it: engaged, effective, excellent, and evolved employees. It is a nine month, in-house curriculum created to engage employees so that they are empowered to lead change and grow as leaders. The e5 program includes team building, leadership techniques, learning about the organization's vision, and sharing ideas across departments and management levels. Graduates of the program become "Innovation Ambassadors: and are tasked with completing an innovation and vision project for the city.
