This session provided case studies and best practices for increasing young people's interest in service professions as a career choice and in lifelong civic engagement. The attached presentation highlights civic education efforts in North Carolina, discusses findings of a 2003 statewide survey relevant to local government public service, and identifies ways to address gaps in civic education and foster interest in local government management as a career.
