This section of the Iowa Code, at Chapter 4554.206, provides the statutory authority for incorporating institutional and engineering controls into site cleanups under Iowa's voluntary cleanup "land recycling" program. The section also creates an environmental easement with the state as grantee, and is enforceable by the state. The institutional control may be removed or altered if it can be demonstrated that the control is no longer required for the site to be in compliance with the applicable standard.
