Under the auspices of the USAID-funded Waste Management Technologies in Regions activity (WMTR), ICMA supported Kakheti municipality in Georgia in cleaning up illegal dumpsites in three villages of the region. 300 walnut trees were planted in the cleaned up areas. WMTR is working with central and local government authorities, local businesses and communities, and municipalities in the design of an integrated waste management system for the Kakheti and Adjara regions.
