This September we will celebrate the 90th anniversary of the ICMA Code of Ethics. The year long celebration that will launch at the conference is designed to tell the story about the importance of the Code to the profession, inspire members to continue their commitment to the highest ethical standards and yes, promote ethical conduct.

LAUNCH OF ETHICS 101, ONLINE TRAINING COURSE FOR YOUR LOCAL GOVERNMENT STAFF

In April, we will be launching the new Ethics 101 online training course for your local government staff. Low cost, ethics training, online, accessible 24/7, to give your staff the training to make the right choices.

Share Your Codes of Ethics

We would like you to share your organizations codes of ethics on the Knowledge Network. Share your documents here.

Share Your Stories

And lastly, as part of the celebration, we would like to capture and share 90 stories about a moment in time when a member exercised true moral courage in dealing with a difficult challenge. The story can be from personal experience or perhaps sharing that of a peer, mentor or role model. In addition to the 90 stories, we will also solicit reflections on the importance and relevancy the Code plays in professional life.

ICMA members know first hand why ethics and integrity are so critical to the profession and the very high price members pay for poor choices. Please help us launch this effort by submitting your stories through the form below.

Please note that these stories will be published on the website and in other ICMA venues.  Please contact Martha Perego at mperego@icma.org if you have questions about the project.
