Registration is now open for the 2023 Annual Conference on Citizenship: The Future of Citizenship, which will be taking place on November 30th in Washington, DC.
For the first time, the conference is being produced by the National Conference on Citizenship and the National Civic League: two historic organizations that have been strengthening democracy in America for a combined total of 206 years! The Charles F. Kettering Foundation, another longtime pillar of civic life in America, is the lead sponsor of the event.
What should you expect at The Future of Citizenship?
- Democracy, Tech, and Artificial Intelligence: What are the impacts of tech and artificial intelligence on democracy?
- Mapping a Healthy Democracy Ecosystem: What are the organizations, networks, and fields working to improve the health of democracy, and how can they work together in this new environment?
- Measuring Civic Readiness and Civic Opportunities: How can we use civic data and new technologies to help citizens and communities track their progress?
The conference will also feature a number of the projects and partnerships we have been working on here at the Center for Democracy Innovation at the Civic League. This includes the “Better Public Meetings” project supported by the AAA-ICDR Foundation, in which we’re helping local governments and school systems innovate in how they structure official public meetings. We’ll also be highlighting some of the innovative projects that were featured in this year’s All-America City Awards.
