HOW DO I GET THE APP?
To download the mobile app, search "ICMA 2018 Annual Conference " in your app store or plug www.tripbuildermedia.com/apps/icma2018 into your device’s browser. If you’re using an iPhone, iPad or Android, you will be directed to where you can download the appropriate native app. If you are using a blackberry or tablet you will be directed to use the HTML5 version of the app using your browser. *Even if you have the 2017 Mobile App on your device, you will need to download the new version to get this year's content.

HELP! I CAN'T DOWNLOAD THE APP

Is your device connected to the Internet? You must have a working Internet connection to download and install the app.

WHAT'S THE APP STORE LOGIN?

Check with the person that set up the phone for you what the username and password are to access the app store. If you cannot retrieve your password, please use the web version of the app by plugging www.tripbuildermedia.com/apps/icma2018 into your device's browser.

I DON'T HAVE AN APPLE OR ANDROID DEVICE?

Use the web app by entering www.tripbuildermedia.com/apps/icma2018 in your browser address bar.

I HAVE ENTERED THE WEB APP URL BUT IT'S NOT OPENING IN A WEB APP PAGE?

Type the URL in the browser address bar, not the Google search field.

HOW DO I LOG INTO THE APP?

Use the same login credientials you use for accessing ICMA.org (Email/Password). If you do not remember your password, select "reset password" from the icma.org login screen.

WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE AN ICMA.ORG LOGIN?

If you've never logged into ICMA.org, create a new ICMA.org account and follow the onscreen instructions before trying to access the app.

WHY AM I GETTING AN ERROR ON MY IPAD WHEN IN LANDSCAPE MODE?

For those using the app on their iPad with iOS 9, please open the app in portrait mode. This is a known bug with iOS 9.

HOW DO I SEARCH THE APP?
The best way to search the App is to tap the magnifying glass icon on the top tool bar of the Main Screen.

HOW DO I FIND COLLEAGUES WHO ARE ATTENDING THE CONFERENCE?
Select the Attendees Icon. Use sort by Last Name or by State to find your collegues.  Use the filter feature to narrow down attendees by State or Country. Please note when using Sort by State, some international attendees will not be categorized by State and will appear at the top of the list under the heading International.

HOW DO I EVALUATE SESSIONS, SPEAKERS AND GIVE MY FEEDBACK ABOUT THE MOBILE APP?

  • Sessions and Speakers: Select the Schedule Icon. Click on the Session Title. Tap the Survey Icon. Respond to the survey by selecting About the Session & About the Speakers
  • Feedback Regarding the Mobile App: Click on the Survey icon (2nd page of icons) and respond to the questions.

WHY SHOULD I SYNC THE APP?
To get the latest event info, tap the sync icon in the top tool bar of the Main Screen.  You should have a good internet connection when synching the App.

  • If you make updates on your device, sync the app after entering the changes to make sure the server receives the new information for all your devices.
  • If you make updates on your device, the personal MySchedule on icma.org will be automatically updated.
  • If you make updates to the personal MySchedule on icma.org your mobile device will be updated within one hour.

HOW DO I CREATE MYCONFERENCE LISTS?
Several sections of the App enable you to check the box next to an item to add that item to your personal MyCONFERENCE Lists.  For example, if you check the box next to any item on the Schedule, that item will appear on your MySCHEDULE List.

MYSCHEDULE*:

Select events, sessions etc. in the schedule section of the app. 

  • If you have personal meetings you'd like to add to your schedule, go to MyConference icon and select MYSchedule, there you can add appointments that do not appear in the master schedule.
  • If you've created personal appointments on icma.org, the app will not pick up those appointments. You will need to recreate the personal events on the app.
  • If you are using multiple devices, make sure you sync all devices after making changes to your schedule. This will ensure that your changes are updated on all devices.
  • If you select a ticketed event that requires preregistration and you have not already registered for the event, you will get an error message to call customer service and register first.
  • This feature syncronizes with our online My Schedule. You can enter items online or in the app and they will appear in both. Syncronization takes place every 60 minutes.

*This feature is for conference registrants only. If you are not registered for the event, you can browse the schedule and view the handouts but cannot build a personal schedule.

HOW DO I VIEW MYCONFERENCE LISTS?

Tap the MyCONFERENCE icon on the Main Screen to view all your MyCONFERENCE Lists.

HOW DO I EXPORT MYCONFERENCE LISTS?

Tap the "Export" icon in the upper right corner of the MyCONFERENCE screen to export your MyCONFERENCE Lists via email.

HOW DO I TAKE NOTES?

Several sections of the App enable you to take notes.  Your notes are saved to the MyNOTES section of the App (accessed via the MyCONFERENCE icon). Export your Notes as noted above.

HOW DO I SYNC NOTES?

Notes are automatically synced if you have a good connection (wifi or data) when you take the note. This will allow the note to be exported and transfer to other devices that you may be using the app on. If you do not have a connection when taking a note, tap the Sync icon on the top tool bar of the Main Screen once you are in an area of good connectivity before taking notes on another device. Then, when you move to the second device, sync the second device once to retrieve your notes and continue entering them.

HOW DO I VIEW THE HANDOUTS?

Go to the session and select the handout icon. The app will require login in to view the handouts. Use your icma.org login.

WHEN SHOULD I UPDATE THE APP?

If a new version of the App is released, please be sure to sync the App before downloading the new version. This will ensure that your MyConference lists are saved. 

To sync the App, tap the sync icon in the lower left corner of the Main Screen.  You should have a good internet connection when synching the App.  If you have enabled automatic updating on your device, please turn it off to avoid updating without synching. 

I JUST UPDATED MY PHOTO AND BIO ON THE WEBSITE BUT THE APP ISN'T SHOWING THE NEW INFORMATION

The website syncs with the app every 60 minutes. Check your app at least one hour after updating your profile on the website.
