The Tustin Police Department is committed to a community governance policing model and has long been CALEA accredited. The Police Chief oversees an annual FY 2024/25 budget of $38.2 million supported by 159 employees, including 103 sworn staff.

The ideal candidate will be a contemporary-minded professional leader with a reputation for creating and maintaining a supportive culture with high levels of trust and accountability. The Chief will be well-versed in current and potential uses of data and technology and dedicated to continuous improvement.

Qualified candidates will offer eight (8) years of progressively responsible supervisory and management law enforcement experience along with a bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree and POST Management Certificate desirable. Completion of relevant and recognized leadership programs favorably considered. Mid-sized agency experience is preferred.

Salary range $211,058 - $284,128. Placement within range DOQE. Salary is supplemented by an attractive benefits package. Recruitment will close on Sunday, December 8, 2024.
