ASEAN Cities Climate Change Project
Collaborating with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), ICMA facilitated a CityLinks partnership in which Chiang Rai, Thailand, and Legazpi City, Philippines, partnered with Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to produce climate change adaptation strategies designed to strengthen urban resiliency.
Environmental Sustainability Professional Fellows Program/ASEAN Countries
ICMA is implementing an Environmental Sustainability Professional Fellows Program for 50 professionals from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar (Burma), Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam and 10 participants from the United States. The East Asian/Pacific countries are members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The program involves knowledge sharing opportunities and exchange visits.
Legislative Process and Governance Professional Fellows Program/ASEAN Countries
ICMA is offering a Legislative Process and Governance Professional Fellows Program for 39 Fellows from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar (Burma), Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and the United States in 2015 and 2016. The East Asian/Pacific countries are members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The Fellowship focuses on the themes of legislative processes and governance practices, accountability, transparency, and citizen engagement and offers opportunities for international knowledge sharing and exchanges between professionals from U.S. host communities and their ASEAN counterparts.

Linking Performance Measurement to Budgeting in the Justice Sector
The project involves conducting research on the practice of performance measurement and performance budgeting in the criminal justice sector in four Latin American countries and providing a roadmap for change.
Municipal Finance Training Certification Program
ICMA provided two rounds of municipal finance training to professionals from Southeast Asian nations, using a global distance learning network. Participants were from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
ICMA has implemented a project to help municipalities in Panama, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and the Dominican Republic develop local-level violence prevention strategies.
Regional Credit Rating Improvement Program
Using a grant from the World Bank through the Public-Private Infrastructure Advisory Facility (PPIAF), ICMA México-Latinoamérica worked with subnational authorities in Argentina, Costa Rica, and Mexico to help them improve their credit ratings.
Sustainable Communities Professional Fellows Program
ICMA facilitated international partnerships focused on climate change and sustainability at the local level under a grant from the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, Professionals from Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, and China participated in exchanges with their counterparts in U.S. cities and counties to learn what communities are doing in terms of climate action planning and adaptation.
