In the spring of 2004, the Town of Leesburg Parks and Recreation Department was notified of a $4.5 million donation to be used at Ida Lee Park. After receiving the donation, the Town of Leesburg took a proactive step in identifying the recreational needs of the community and created an innovative way to finance the projects indentified through several public input methods.
