The job of an assistant chief administrative officer (ACAO) is complex, requiring the right mix of tactical and leadership skills. This dynamic position involves wearing many hats and is often considered the step before becoming a CAO. ICMA’s ACAO Committee introduces a collection of online seminars to provide pro tips for this role – no matter what your career stage.
Session 1, Is ACAO your Next Step?, is designed for Department Heads, Assistants to the City Manager, and others that are interested in moving into the ACAO role. In this session, you'll join several ACAO Committee members as they discuss their own paths to the position and provide helpful advice for those with similar career goals. They will cover:
